Taffy, we were with Hamilton Locke as well! We did used to get the calls about the late payments, but all I told them was that it was out of my hands, the money had been paid to Hamilton Locke and they would be getting their money. They used to try and get me to phone Hamilton Locke and gee things up, but I said it was nothing to do with me once the money had been paid to them.

They did always get paid, and I never had any charges or anything added on.

When I queried the late payments with Hamilton Locke they said that they sent cheques out on a certain day in the month and that they would have gone out. I must admit that I was surprised they didn't do it electronically.

The one thing that annoyed me with them was that you pay a fee - in our case over £100 per month, which could have gone towards paying our creditors.

We changed to Payplan, originally just for DMP as they don't charge you, and it was them who suggested the IVA.

Perhaps you could speak to another company who doesn't charge and is perhaps more efficient?
