Not for xmas costs no, you can occasionally not make a payment to cover unforseen or emergency costs (which still has to be made up at some point) but unfortunately xmas doesn't come under that

Hi and welcome

Definitely not for Christmas as this will have to be funded by savings from your normal allowances.

For emergencies, as Lem says, it is possible but you would have to provide proof of the work needed.

you could always say something else, car repairs, new cooker / fridge

etc, bend the truth
Never regret what you done in life, regret what you have not done,
final payment made
NOW THE WAIT

Hmm, trouble is you have to provide receipts as proof, it's really not a good idea to be lying in an IVA, there is a huge element of trust between your IP and yourself

You may not need a receipt for one month's break if you are just getting it very tight or cars/ appliances have been causing problems.

You can miss a payment at your own choice, but this will leave you one month in arrears. Christmas expenditure does need to be budgeted for throughout the year, and a few pounds saved each week can make all the difference as the festive season rapidly advances upon us.

Hi Tracy.hour. Welcome to the forum. Paypalnallowed me to miss 2 months on separate occasions. 1 to fund my child's school trip and the other to set her up for Uni. I then increased my monthly payment to make up the shortfall. I just sent in the letter from school and then the receipts for the things I bought for Uni though they didn't actually ask for me to do this. You could jist put it to your IP and see what they say. I read a great tip on here from Niobe I think - to complete online surveys and collect points that can be used towards gifts. Good luck. x

Welcome to the forum from me.....Christmas is difficult when in an IVA but not impossible.....collect the points up from supermarkets and use them at Xmas; complete online surveys through the year; cut down to token gifts to all except those special little ones in your life; hand make things; give elderly parents a small food hamper and tuck inside a nice picture frame with a family photo in it.......I could go on.

The best thing about being in an IVA at Christmas is.....no envelopes afterwards demanding payment !

I had to provide proof to Payplan last year when we had boiler problems.

I have had several breaks and not needed any receipts, the first was for a new fridge/freezer and the second a repair for something. They just accepted what i said, which was good. I thought 2 breaks was an option. my 2 payments have been tagged onto the end of the IVA i believe.
