Hi All,
Unfortunately it's me again with yet another problem!!
I have been offered a new job back in Bristol whch is where I want to be (and my Doctor agrees it will certainly help with the depression, isolation, stress and loneliness). The problem is the salary is just under £8k lower than where I am now (top line). I will save on travel and expenses as I can live at home and not have to commute for miles.
Do you think the IVA will be at risk if I take it snd my salary goes down?
To complicate things my NHS post has just beenthrough Agenda For Change (Afc - the government's method of modernising pay in the NHS. This is the second post where I've been down graded (it's not just me a substantial number of people are in the same bost) and they say it's not a money saving exercise!!!) and it was down banded to the same salary as the post I've been offered. I wouldn't drop immediately but it will happen by at the latest Oct next year. By then in the new post I would have had a pay rise of about £2k - see my dilema? Stuffed if I do and stuffed if I don't, can't win!!
I will talk to B & E tomorrow but thought some good old friendly advice wouldn't hurt.
All help gratefully accepted,
Hugs,
Chardonnay

Hi Chardonnay,

Depends on whether you could manage on a lower salary - 8k is a lot!
But, if it makes you happier and less stressed then that has to be a good thing and you would be dropping money anyway if you stayed where you are and stress levels would be way up there.

I am sure you will come to the right decision for you.

Hey Caerrie, It's an awful situation to be in but if it means you being happier and not on your own in Cardiff then I say you should take it. You've had a terrible time and been through so much it's time you put yourself first. Thinking of you, Viki X

Hi Caerrie, poor you, I can see your dilemma. If I was in the same boat (hypathetically) I would follow my heart and go where I was destined to be. You have been under an immense amount of stress where you are, and I feel that if you are in the surroundings of familiar people, it will make the burden so much easier to bare, as you can seek solace and visit people which doesn't cost a penny (except petrol of course). Who knows, you could also take the post in Bristol and then go for some kind of promotion when you are settled. Just a thought....... Take Care Kazzy x
There is light at the end of that dark tunnel. Promise.
