Annual review - receipts

Hi, I've received a letter from Accuma re my annual review. I have to complete a new expenditure form and provide proof for any of my expenditure that has increased. The problem is I haven't been keeping receipts - I was only told to keep wage slips.

I don't know what to do as obviously my petrol has increased with the price rises and my travel card to work has also increased, my food and toiletries have also gone up by roughly £7 a week.

The only thing I have receipts for is my car maintenance which has also gone up, I have kept the receipts for all the work I have had done to my car this year.

Does anyone have any advice what I can do without proof? I have had a payrise which works out as just over £100 more a month, this is all going on my expenditure and I will really struggle if they take it off me.

I am sure Melanie or an expert will be along to answer your post soon.

I would surely think it is common sense that prices are soaring at the moment and your IP should accept this as everyone (including IP's) must be feeling the pinch with all the price hikes.

I woul think you have copies of all the previous months bills ie.electric water phone council tax etc

Why not over the next month keep a record of all expenditure and forward this and receipts with your I/E form

There should be no need to keep receipts unless your expenditure has increased significantly - ie more than 10% - and I would not ask for petrol receipts as it is quite obvious that this has seriously increased over the last year.

I don't keep receipts either, I've not been asked to. I'd just explain you don't have them and if they really need them then you'll keep them for the next 3 months.

They should however know everything is going up at the moment though. Surely common sense should prevail.

I was just asked for wage slips. However, I did send them copies of my council tax increase, house insurance increase and just told them about the increase in petrol. I think you would have to have been living on Mars not to know about that! I also sent a covering letter explaining all the increases/deceases in my income and expenditure. Don't worry, they were fine with me.
