Correct, they should be forced to offer basic facilities to those of us who arent as solvent as we used to be!!!

That said,I really cannot fault the co op,and the wife just got car insurance through them via quidco and got £75 cash back(well will do in 90 days).

Excellent! I was going to go with the Co-op for insurance, but I wouldn't have got the cashback as I can't pay in one payment so I stuck with Churchill.

Plasticdaft - both Melanie and Size 5 have had Bank Managers as clients - I wonder what their attitude is to customers in difficulty!

Skippy you can do monthly payments after a deposit(via quidco, easy to use and really does get you money back). And the actual co op site is giving an incentive to get insurance too.

I don't know about her current staff, but I know she has said that she wouldn't have a problem employing someone who had been in an IVA - I presume she would include BR in that.

Thanks Paul, I'll have a look at that - if it's cheaper than Churchill and I can get cashback I'm interested!

Thanks for suggesting the Co-op Paul - £130 cheaper than Churchill and that's not including the cashback! I've cancelled Churchill and as soon as I get paid on Thursday I'll sort out cover with the Co-op.

My wife saved an absolute fortune and when she phoned Marks and spencer(who were cheapest last year),they wanted to know all the details of the policy and exclusions etc,and the co op's insurance is much better cover and cheaper and less of an excess too.

Dave's just done a quote and it's £200 cheaper, and if there insurance is as good as their banking there won't be a problem. The only downside is they won't let me pay monthly, but my uncle will lend the money to me so that's not a problem - he's all for saving money!

That's brilliant Skip!

I must admit that we tend to stick with the same one as we have always used.

£75 excess on car insurance and no excess on contents!

Comes from being a retired copper!
