Hi All
I've not been on the forum for a long while but have popped in now and again.
Hope you are all well and enjoying this hot and sticky weather ;)

I just really wanted to update you all after a long and often tedious 6 years.

Last week hubby and I finally got our CC (only a year since our last payment!)

Our name is no longer on the Insolvency register (I checked 6 times just to be sure ;))

We have managed to get a mobile phone contract and today we were accepted by our bank to upgrade our basic accounts to current accounts (they even offered us a cheque book!!)

We have also made a dent in saving a deposit for a house, we have managed to save our IVA payment for the last 6 months (the 1st 6 months we enjoyed ourselves abit and even treated ourselves to a holiday in the sunshine)

So we are now working towards improving our credit rating so hopefully give it another year and we will be in a position to buy our first home :)

Thank you to everyone on the forum who has supported us over the last 6 odd years, it has been a rollercoaster but we have come out the other side relatively unscathed ;)

To those just starting their IVA journey or thinking about it good luck, the end may seem like a long way off and at times you will never get there but from someone who has been through it, the time has flown by and we have come out of it stronger than ever.

I will keep popping on every now and again just to say hi and thanks again everyone
:)

What a great post.

Well done barb on coming out the other side.

Just shows that all of us can be given another chance and have a fresh start.

Enjoy your debt free future, and those holidays[:D]

Lovely to hear from your barb with your good news. I am sure I can remember you posting when the IVA was originally accepted, so how time does fly! Best of luck for the future.

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
