Mum is settling a bit, much more comfy. Spending a little less time with her as she is so. Well, as for me, saw the one of the leading Prof. in cardiac surgery of the entire world this morning, looks like the time has come now, my disease is progressing swiftly, despite all the tweaking of the medication. A case conference is to be held this evening, and will receive a phone call tomorrow. I feel utterly safe within this old boy's hands, i was so grateful to him for his reassurance, and he said it was a pleasure to care for a colleague no matter where they work. Tough times, yet good ones in the same breath. Regards to all.

Hi Quark, I'm glad your mum is more comfortable, it must be a weight off your mind.

I'm glad you're in safe hands with the surgeon and please let us know how you get on when you hear from him tomorrow.

Take care xxx

Good news that your mum is settling.

Hope everything goes ok for you as well. You'll be a new man afterwards.

Let us know when you are having it done.

No news as yet.The Prof. has been very busy doing surgery, case conference was last night instead, his secretary has kept me informed and reassured me that i haven't been forgotten.I'll be seeing him once a week anyway so in the meantime i'm trying to keep busy. It's been an odd time, for a few weeks i don't feel any worse, then i'm shattered for days, then better, then worse. The meds have just relieved the symptoms to a point, while quietly behind the scenes my heart is failing more and getting larger. I so look forward to feeling normal, forgotten what it's like. Will keep you all posted.

I hope you get sorted soon Quark. Just chill out now and then you should be able to do all sorts once you are sorted.

Thinking of you.

The Prof, has asked me in for an urgent MRI, he's spotted something else on the echo i had on Tuesday which is a little more serious. Talk about thorough, i was gonna get my hair done this morning and all. Coarctation of the aorta it's called, i'm not even gonna worry till it's done, i know it's fatal though, but the man is the leading surgeon in this field of congenital hearts in the world so he knows what to do and when to do it. 8 weeks ago my left ventricle size was 4.7 now it is 5.9. When it's 6.1 that is when i get my refurbishment. Going for a swim with cardiac lot now, i have my cap with the flowers on it. Delicious.

At least he's on the ball Quark so it looks as though things will be moving soon.

Enjoy your swim and I'm sure the cap looks lovely.

Sorry to hear all this Quark but I love your positive attitude to it all.

I used to be a carer dealing with people with degenerative illnesses and being optimistic is so important and can make all the difference my friend.

Take care. x

It certainly puts things into perspective when you read of other people's difficulties. I really hope that things go well for you and you get back to good health soon, you certainly seem to have a positive outlook and you sound as if you are in expert hands.
Good luck
Karen x
