Hi everyone,

Just had a call from Adam at ClearDebt - my IVA was accepted.

Only one modification - they reduced my contingency by £10 per month so I am paying £271.80 on a £45k debt. Which works out at 24p in the £. Can't believe it. First Direct voted yes so had 86% majority.

So it has taken exactly one month from my first contact to approval - is that a record???? lol

Thanks for all your support.

Tracy x

I knew that you were fine yesterday and was dying to tell you, but formalities have to be observed so I couldn't. We are all delighted for you here, and Adam in particular never fails to sing your praises. He wishes all his clients could be as switched on and helpful as you have been.

Here's to your journey and the very best of luck with it, a glass or two of your favourite tipple would be well in order if you are so minded.

Regards.

Size 5 - I can't believe you knew and didn't tell me!! I had a sleepless night for nothing lol.

Well it's my friends birthday today so it will now be a double celebration.

I really can't thank Ali & Adam at ClearDebt enough - they have both been so quick to reply to me and always so friendly on the phone.

A massive weight off my shoulders. I know 5 years is a long time but I had 5 years left to run on my personal loan with a hihger payment than my IVA so I'm definitely looking at this as a positive step!

The majority of the time the IP's know the outcome, but they can't tell you until after the time of the meeting in case any of the creditors change their minds.

congratulations from me as well. I am in to month 2 and feel so much better with no credit available. Its not there so I cant spend it and I know where I am now. Sure its a struggle sometimes but I am not doing without - just means when I want to do something that costs a bit more I have to save now and thus will enjoy it more as its paid for!

P.S Payment sounds about right, I pay £250.13p/m on £38500 debt. Oh, and MBNA said not on their vote but I had 79% without them!
When you get in a mess, tackle it head on, there is always a way out ....
