Just been thinking about this year and thought how rubish it has been but then i remembered that the previouse ten years we have be fooling ourselves thinking we were ok when all the time we were in a finacial mess. 2012 for me is the start of another journey being carefull with the pennies and not buying for the sake of it. Feeling a lot better in my self aswell, not worrying too much about debt. I would also like to thank all you guys for your help and support to get me where we are now, only three months in but on the road to recovery. It is like having a new family and certainly a lot of great new freinds.
Thank you all.[:)] What will 2012 bring for you?

What a nice post chas. I'd certainly be lost without this forum and I've made some very good friends on here. Hopefully 2012,will be a good year for all of us.

Hi Jan if can help anyone on this forum i will as for my other so called friends they can do one, it is nice to be in the same boat as everyone else and we all have one thing in common, debt. When you do meet other posters you find they are a great bunch and that means a lot to me, more than the so called friends who turn their back on you.
If i listened to my Mom and Dad i would not be in the mess i am in now.

I agree Chas that everyone on here is fab and it's great to be able to discuss the debt worries with each other, as like many others my OH haven't told our family as we are too embarrassed, so having an outlet is great !

Hi MrsR I told my family Brother and sisters as my parents passed away over 14 years ago but i have nothink to hide my friends also know. I know who`s life i would rather have now though. I will pay my debt back as much as i can rather than keeping my head burried and building up more debt, but the one thing i have leared is i will NEVER have any more debt after all this, that is for certain. Good luck for 2012 and i hope it all goes well for you. Just dont be ashamed of being in an IVA.

This year has been a bit of a watershed for me, it's been great to have the protection of the IVA behind us but the worry of neverending debt has been replaced with the worry of what happens if the car breaks donw or we have some major expense.

However, on the plus side, this forum has been a lifeline and I know we can all come here when we need to and support each other

Hubby and I were chatting at the weekend and he has described this year as being the most challenging ever. Obviously me breaking the news to him in January that we were insolvent, when he thought we were doing fine, was a massive shock and also his job has been very demanding. I hope 2012 will be a good year for all of us x

Lets hope 2012 brings good things for all of us in many different ways. I know there are always tough times to tackle but 2011 seems to have been a particularly bad year for an enormous amount of people and I for one am looking forward to hope for a better year in 2012.

This forum is a great place to be to remind ourselves of the support, compassion and understanding there is amongst caring people and I love being part of it.

Excellent post Chas and I wish you and everyone else well for 2012.

2011 has been bitter sweet year for me - after the excitement of getting engaged everything was really put into perspective when my aunt was diagnosed with cancer and died 2 months later. Her and my uncle were comfortably off but it shows that no amount of money matters when you are ill. As well as that we found out that my mum is losing her sight.

I'll be glad to see the back of 2011 and I'm looking forward to 2012 as by this time next year I'll be an old married woman!

2011 has brought health scares for those closest in the world to me. A few weeks ago, I was out of my mind with worry and so I am hoping for a worry free 2012.

On the debt front, the IPA will conclude early 2012, so another hurdle cleared [:)]

Nice post chas.

I hope that 2012 will allow me to have my ill health retirement, complete a full and final for our IVA and settle down into very early retirement!

If not, it will be the same old same old without the worry of opening any post that arrives!!

Good post Chas. 2011 has also been an nightmare for us, we realised at the beginning of the year we couldn't carry on, started the IVA in May and had to close my business in July on top of that Mum's health scare has meant it's been a pants year, well loads of other stuff too but I won't bore you!

I agree 2012 will be a transition year and settling in to the IVA.

Good luck to all of us for next year!

it was this time last year that i found out about our debt(hubby kept it all to himself),it was a terrible shock.

i was so upset that he'd been lying to me,taken cc's out etc that i didn't know about. the impact on trust was a huge blow,we've worked hard at building trust.

the magnitude of the situation made me quite low, still struggling at times,i feel i already have so much to deal with due to health problems(neuro & heart),the added stress has been difficult.

but,we've never had a budget until now, food& petrol £ every wk is a BIG deal after how things were.
i feel sad to think my hubby carried all that worry by himself.

it's been the hardest & the best yr all in 1. we'd have never paid things, the IVA gave us a 2nd chance. it's helped to know we're not alone, thankyou x
Nothing stays the same...everything changes..hang on in there!
