I took out a IVA with Debt Free Direct and made my last payment July 2012 and I have still not received my certificate of completion. On several occasions I have phoned on a 0845 number for an explanation on one occasion the advisor was unsure what the hold up was. Yesterday I received a letter through the post requesting that I sign a deed of assignment, basically it stated that they would close my case if I agreed to allow them to continue to trace PPI DFD have already taken payments for 2 PPI that I did not know I was entitled too and I am pretty sure that there is no more but they insist. I also noticed in this letter that for every claim they could claim £100 for the case. What I am trying to tell you is you are more than likely to be in this agreement for more than 5 years because all they are interested in is taking all you assets regardless of the payments you make each month. there are so many stories like mine online where people are still waiting for their case to close down after complying to the agreement. in my case I actually paid more into my IVA. It is so unfair because you can not start to rebuild your credit score because of the delay. PLEASE PLEASE think it over before going for an IVA I wish I had gone to a debt management company, don't just go by the good reviews online I suspect that a lot of it is fraudulent[:(]
