1 step forward 2 back[:(]

IVA proposal bobbing along meeting with Melanie soon. Feeling like I can see light at the end of the tunnel .......

Then car goes in for MOT today & fails big time . I have been told it will cost a lot more than the car is worth.
Plus hubby has been rained of 2 days. Self employed so ouch[:(]
Decided it is no shopping this week but run freezer down I think.

Life it s*** & then some this week. I have started talking to my money tree nicely as it is very very healthy. I am starting to think it is inverted and the bigger it gets the poorer I get[:)]

Oh Buttercup, you have had a right couple of days!!!! We all have times like this but the thing to remember is, as my hubby has the knack of stating, 'when you're at the bottom, there's only one way to go-up'. Know what it's like when your better half is rained off, you pray for fine weather and hope you get it.
Keep smiling, tomorrow is another day and another chance......
It's nice to be back......

come to the conclusion that is life Chris. It would have been far too dangerous for hubby as they are up on scaffolding quite near a cliff so quite windy to say the least.
I always say the only way is up & nothing stays bad forever.

In answer to your question
At what point does credit become debt???!!!???!!!
I would say straight away.

Hi buttercup

There is never an convienient time for this sort of thing to happen, but right now it must feel awful.
Have a chat with Melanie and see what she can suggest..

It sounds far to dangerous for your husband to be working up high near a cliff in such high winds[:0][:0]It must be annoying as he is self employed, but I am sure you would rather have him safe and well[:)]
Good luck

Emma x

PS Love the picture (avatar) of your buttercups[:)]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Emma x

A car is essential for you to be able to get to and from work, so we do need to chat to see how you can resolve this - perhaps through some family support which can be repaid during the early months of an IVA or even a new hire-purchase agreement now.

Only been in an iva for 2 mths and this week our car broke (HEAD GASKET ) my brother is mechanic but said it was going to cost more than the car was worth to fix it about £600 . I am in total dispair as hubby needs car for work .We took car to local scrap yard and we got £180 cash for it . Apparently scrap metal fetches good price at moment.Went on ebay and won mondeo m reg tax and tested for £200. Cashed in tax disc from old car and got £80 as had only just taxed it recently as well. What a panic i got in but everything worked out well in the end.

That's a great post Rachel - and goes to show that where there is a will there is a way, and usually a solution to most problems. Good old e-bay again - I swear by it!

Ebay has certainly saved us this week . Luckily the car we bought had only 2 hours left to run and it was 15 on bus from our house to collect it .Buying a car on there a bit nerve racking but we had no other option so took the risk.

Had a look on ebay last night & decided that is the route to go. Going to scrap car as metal is of good value at the moment and cash in tax and hold insurance put money to one side ready to pounce on ebay when I am ready.Plus my brother has said I can borrow one of his cars for as long as I need it. As he has a couple plus a van and he is going to be in & out of hospital all year so is not going to need them. Also I am working from home so I will be ok.

Daughter & son both got cars on ebay & they are great.
