Off for a Job interview of sorts this morning.

2nd one in 2 weeks, last week i turned down a job at another store as i didn't want to move stores. But after a group resource meeting ive basically been told i have to move to continual my carreer, if i refuse then i kill off any hope of a promotion in the next 2 years.

Currently im in a lovely new build shop all nice and snug and loving it, they want me to go to an old store in birmingham, its falling down round us and i know its just a building but mmehh just not interested in moving at the moment.

I get the feeling im being pushed out of my current store, my store manager is fighting to keep me but he told me he had lost this battle, so off for an interview for a job i don't really want. Problem is ive prepped for it as i would any interview, without even thinking about it!! should turn up with a hangover that might convince them not to want me! lol

Went for the interview, almost got there late, but the store manager followed me in, lol so he was late, had a chat about things very informal then a couple of formal questions to review my management style then that was it. Got back to my own store, and haven't heard anything all day, perhaps i didn't get it after all that would throw a spanner in the works lol!!

Im guessing that wouldn't go down well with my boss or his boss!

Yep sorry just got in from work, jobs mine, just need to sort out salary details, but its 90% a done deal. Had to tell my team today as my store manager had tweeted i got the job before i found out!! Had to tell them before they went for breakfast and saw his tweet. Group sd sent me a txt congratulating me and saying he is looking forward to seeing me in store and what i can do.

My PTM has already got my replacement lined up he starts week after next, so thats when i move, only snag is i haven't actually said yes yet!!

Glad you got the job offer - I presume you will be taking it? Still with the same firm?

Yep its still Tesco, managers move store to store to develop and move on, rarely stay in one store longer than 12months when its new builds you tend to stay a bit longer or leave a lot quicker lol!!

My team were gutted i could see it in there eyes, when you have a good team its hard to leave them behind sometimes, i think this is one of the times.

I did some mileage checks yesterday, where im going is 2 miles less a day than my current store, and i should get at least £1k payrise as well, which gives me £80 a month, £40 for my IVA and £40 for me! just need the offer letter and pay confirmed before i except.

I hope all goes well for you. I expect your team will miss you as it's always hard when someone leaves.
