It is fairly close to the coast in Holt and we like to stay just down the road in Blakeney. I can't wait to get back up there but not sure when we'll make it!

Yes, I thought that was what you would say. Lovely there! My friend used to own a wood lodge in the forest at Weybourne, next to the riding school and we often used to stay there. Unfortunately she has sold it now. We often go that way for a drive when the weather is decent. Holkham beach is nice too x

I’m from the West Midlands originally but now live down south in West Sussex. Some time ago hubby and I made our wills and he asked if I wanted to be buried back in the Midlands. I answered that it had taken me 17 years to get out so please don’t send me back when I’m dead. We visit every year but wouldnt want to live there again.

I always smile when Manchester/Liverpool is classed as the North. To me its the Midlands, and London is another country[:D]
London IS another country !!!!

We're hoping to move to West Sussex one day. We're on holiday there at the moment and as much as I like Middlesex I'd like to move here.

Especially now a John Lewis at Home has opened here!

I lived in Worthing and Littlehampton for a while, but prefer Somerset --- would like to end up in Cornwall (or France).

I've been looking for a riding school in Norfolk that runs hacks - do you remember the name of the one in Weybourne?

Never been to Holkham Beach either but would like to - and have a snoop around the house! There is a gorgeous beach near Sheringham - a pebbley National Trust beach that never gets busy. I think it's called Gramborough. I just love that on one side of the road you have beaches and on the other it's rolling countryside.

Norfolk is so lovely. I would like to visit out of season this year and see Norfolk in the lashing wind and rain...to see if it's as vicious as people say!!

Hi Bol - Norfolk not so good in the wind and rain!!!! Anyway, the riding school I used to use is Forest Lodge Riding School, Sandy Hill Lane, Weybourne, NR25 7HW - 01263 588578. I don't know whether it is still open but I would think so. The hacks there were amazing, through the forest (Sheringham) and you could see the steam train passing below etc - wonderful. My Hubby used to come with me and he can't even ride!! There are a couple of riding schools in my village and numerous within 25 mile radius. Never heard of Gramborough, will have to check it out. Just a thought - the riding school is opposite Kelling Heath camping site which I believe is very well known. Very short drive from Holt. Hope this helps x
