We made our full and final offer on 16th September to Freeman Jones. Sent in all bank statements, letters, proof of funds, house valuation etc.
Our offer was for £8500 and the money very kindly gifted by my parents (after 12 months of not wanting to tell them about the IVA as I was worried they would be disappointed in me!).
After hearing nothing for a month, I contacted FJ to be told that the person dealing with our offer had left shortly after the offer was made and no one had picked up our case! After a little rant on here and several phone calls back and forth, FJ pulled out all the stops to get things moving again. The process took a little longer still as they worked out our I&E wrong and all had to be done again!
Eventually, we got a date over the phone for our meeting. The week before, I phoned FJ to make sure it was all still going ahead, to be told that the date I had been given over the phone was wrong and it would be another week!
The day of the meeting and we got a phone call at 12:00 to say the offer had been rejected but we could go back to them with a higher offer. After frantic phone calls to my parents (and a bit of begging!) the offer was increased to £9500. This was accepted in principle that day bit the meeting adjourned until the following week for us to provide amended offer letter and proof of funds, which we did within a couple of days.
Next meeting...... Waited all day to find out if it had all been accepted. After phoning FJ at 5pm, I was told that the creditors had not formally agreed yet and the meeting was adjourned for a further week!! By this time, I was going grey!!
Next meeting...... (Monday this week), phone call from FJ to inform us that it had all been agreed and signed - phew!!!
Settlement paid by my parents last night and now hoping Freeman Jones can redeem themselves by getting our completion certificate issued ASAP!!
We have almost reached the end and I cannot express just how relieved I am.
Lessons learnt along the way - the biggest one being how to budget and live to our means!!
Here is to a very merry Christmas.
Jojo cox.

Dear jojocox

Congratulations on the acceptance of your full and final offer.

I appreciate it took longer than expected and at times our communication should have been better.

Our closures team expect you will have your completion certificate by the end of the year.

We wish you all the very best for the future.

Thank you
Sarah
