I'm sure this must have been asked before but I can't easily spot it anywhere.

I have just offered a full and final and, fingers crossed all being well, it will all be over on 19th March, a year after I started my IVA. Now I know that it takes 6 years to be off your credit references but does it take that long to be off the public register too? I am terrified my new boyfriend might decide to check whether I am solvent or not. I see little point in telling him unless I get refused a full and final although I may reconsider if it will still show!

Hi Popcorn, your name should come off the register within 3 months of you receiving your certificate of completion. It is the responsibility of your IP to make sure this happens if I remember rightly.

I dont think thats correct, my IVA completed August 2007, it stays on file for 6 years from when the IVA was made and not from when its completed as 'satisfied'. I cant get mine off record yet either, ive tried!

The IVA drops off the Insolvency Register three months after it has been completed.

It stays on the credit reference for 6 years from the date of approval and will then drop off.

Thats welcome news for me too - I had assumed it stayed on there for the whole 6 years but great that it doesnt. [:)]

Me too - I am just terrified he is going to check it. Though goodness knows why it would occur to anyone to check on a new partner if they aren't in the situation themselves. I'm sure I'm just being paranoid!!! 17 days until my creditors meeting !

I think you are probably being a bit paranoid popcorn.

He probably doesn't know it exists, and I wouldn't be impressed if my other half went checking on there to see if I was on there (not that it matters as he's on there as well!)
