I have got my date through eventually (the person I was dealing with had been off sick for a week, and I wanted to keep letting her deal with it rather than letting someone else take over), the meeting is 11th January.

To summarise, my debts are £16,000, broke down as follows:
Halifax £10,000
MBNA £ 4,000
HSBC £ 1,400
HMRC £ 100

I am offering £210 per month, which equates to 44p in the pound so I am led to believe!

Thanks debbiw, my IP is very confident, so hopefully it will be fine. Glad to finally get a date, something I can look towards as the start of a difficult 5 years, but a long walk towards a debt-free future. [:)]

According to my calculations, my IP is charging £5,500 (inc VAT) for my IVA - is this a reasonable amount?

What happens if my creditors modify this, is my IP obliged to accept it, or can the IVA fail if they refuse to do so?

You will feel better when it's agreed and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My meeting is Monday, and i feel sick thinking about it at the moment.. but we will have to wait and see. Glad you got your date through.

Thanks Debbi, Martin and Skippy - I am reasonably confident with the proposal, although doubts are setting in with MBNA through what I read in the other forum.

Good luck for Monday debbi, I really hope it goes through OK for you [:)]

Best of luck for the 11th. Just remember that 80% of all IVA's are approved. I know it is very hard, because all you keep thinking is "what if"
Best of luck, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you go on.

I've had a relaxing Christmas, where I was able to practically forget about it all, which was nice - I have had practically zero contact from my creditors (1 letter from HBOS (well, their debt collection agency), 1 text message and letter from MBNA, nothing from HSBC/HMRC), it's all quite eerie. It's like being in a big building on your own waiting for the big monster to jump up from behind and attack you.

12 days to go, so fingers crossed for the 11th.
