Hi All,
Read and Recieved some great advice on here the last 10 weeks and tomorrow is finally D Day! Got my creditors meeting at 11.15am and am really starting to feel nervous now. I know the proposal I have put forward is reasonable. Im offering 31p in the pound to debtors as follows:
LLoyds Credit Card 11k
LLoyds Overdraft 5k
Egg Loan 10k
Egg Card 1 2k
Egg Card 2 2k
Goldfish 5k
Virgin 5k
Marbles 7.5k
Next 1.5k
Barclaycard 1+2 500
Halifax 3k
Capital One 2.5k
Total about 55k which I am so ashamed about as I have very little to show for it but I should know by this time tomorrow how I will fair. Bancruptcy will not afffect my job so this may be the only option if it doesnt get approved. Not keen at all but it my be the only way.
Just wondering does anybody know what these creditors are genearlly like any really bad ones??
Thanks for listening!
Nic

Hi Nic
Only my opinion but i think all of those are reasonably accepting creditors. Your offer seems good so try not to worry. So easy for me to say I know but the only advice I can give.
Try to keep busy tomorrow and hopefully all will be well. i will think of you in the morning and send some good vibes your way. Make sure you let us know how it goes.
All the very best from me Nic

Hi nic
Please do not get to stressed about your creditors meeting tommorrow.
I had mine on the 5th November and I really tried to give myself a busy day at work, I am in sales on the road so was able to go to car to take call when it came.
It really helped me being so busy as I did not have anytime that morning to stress about it, and the call was very quick and painless when it came.
I think i had stressed so much for weeks before that when that day was over I could have quite happily of slept for a week straight!!
If you have put forward your best offer than thats all you can do, please think through any modifications you get carefully before agreeing to anything as it can seem such a relief at the time you could agree to anything. You have a certain amount of time to decide on any modifications (I believe its 14 days, but best check with your ip). Only you know what you can afford, so be firm and stick to it as 60 months is a long time.
I still feel ashamed about letting myself get in a mess and I have nothing fancy to show for it also but I am hoping these feelings pass as I am trying my best to pay all I can and i did loose my part time job I had and a third of my income overnight so that was the reason for my troubles.
You are facing up to your situation now and it is so hard to sit down and confront things but you will feel better for doing this.
I am still getting used to (and sure I will be for a long time yet!!) using my debit card and thinking about the money i am spending all the time and making sure it is wisely spent.
i wish you lots of luck and will send some positive thoughts your way, let us all know how you get on.
Good Luck

Hi there
All of those creditors are generally supportive, so long as you are putting your best proposal forward, so good luck and let us know how you get one.

Thanks everyone, didnt sleep much but I suppose its not long now! On a course this morning that I cant leave so will have to wait until my lunch break (around 12) to nip out and ring see if theres any news, dont know if im going to be able to concentrate much but I guess Ill be kept busy which is better than sitting waiting for the phone to ring!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!
