Hi,

Got the news my IVA had been accepted bit with a minor change to go through with no change to the payments.

I should be happy but I'm not I don't understand, any help?

Good news.

Some people do feel a bit of an anti-climax. I think it's perfectly natural and perhaps once the letters and calls stop, you might feel differently?

HI beyondhelp - maybe all the weight of this has finally risen to the surface and although it is a positive for you (congrats on the news) it marks the start of something you probably thought you would never have had to do.

I am sure many of posters who have been there have had similar feelings and will share their views with you. Let yourself feel what you feel and eventually you will feel better knowing you are doing the best you can.

Use the forum as much as you need to for support, we're all here for you.

Best wishes,

I think you probably right when I come home after work there won't be a demanding letter anymore or the missed call on my mobile, I reckon I will be a lot more happier!

Good News.. although the next 5 years may appear difficult, suspect they won't be as difficult as the last five weeks. Do let us know how you get on.

I was originally elated then the down came, as I kept thinking oh my 60 months, but I'm 32 months in now, a few problems behind me and happiest I've been in a long time.

I'm sure you will happy too give it a bit of time. x

this a normal feeling to have.
you go from being very pesermistic about it being accepted.
then when it is you think of all the restraints you got placed upon you for the next 5 years.
after about 6 months(in my case anyway)you will settle into a pattern and adapt to your circumstances.
then it becomes your normal way of life and its becomes quite feeling that nobody can touch you and demand money of you all the time.
im nearly 2 years in now and as i said takes a bit of getting used to but you will.
3 years and im debt free apart from the mortgage so will have plenty of spare cash then to do thing i cant now.
you will find you will enjoy getting a bargin here and there and paying cash.
stick with us and we will be here for you

I will be defo sticking with this forum, it has answered so many questions and everyone is so helpful! But the next 5 years seems daunting but it is going to be worth it, debt free is two words I never thought I could hear! I think it is just the come down, don't need to worry about money, albeit as much! I tried to economies is preparation for this so it wasn't too much of a shock and paying cash is good!

I'm sure each day will become brighter, once you realise you've no creditor contact; keep smiling the 60 months do soon go and you'll look back on your journey with pride.

Have you started a blog? If not why not do one, it helps therapeutically as well as there's a chance to win a few vouchers and also helps others. x
