Sincere thanks to all who have posted a reply to my many rambling posts over the weekend!
I feel so much better about everything now. I still haven't anything confirmed - i think that is a long way off yet, but I realise now it is not the end of the world and there are options out there for me.
On Thursday I panicked and was ready to sign up with the first IP I spoke too - but now I will speak with another and make sure I fully understand everything before anything gets signed!
Whilst the original company sounded fine - I realise now that they are being very pushy and are doing a typical sales pitch on me without really caring about my personal well being - I suppose it is all about making money after all! - They should be a bit more discreet though as I will not be using them now! I only received the info on Sturday and have had 2 calls from them already today to see if i have signed.
I presumed this was normal and done by all ip's

Do remember that when you choose an IP for now, you are choosing the firm with whom your IVA will be operated for the next five years. A pushy salesman now, might turn into a pushy collector of contributions into the future. My professional is not just about making money, but about offering the very best of advice without being motivated about steering clients just down one route. You don't need to make a decision right now, and it might be better talking to another couple of firms to compare the standard of advice and support you are likely to get - not just for now but into the future as well.

You're doing the right thing apple2, speak to 2 or 3 firms and carefully consider all your options before you commit to anything. You'll get there, good luck and keep posting. Viki X

Hi apple ... good to see you feeling a bit more positive now, and don't worry, we are all here to listen to each other through the ups and the downs. Take your time, consider all the options, ask questions if you are not sure, and then do what 'feels' right.
