It is hard to say, as it depends upon how busy the Courts are to be frank, but having a CCJ on your file is no worse than doing an IVA, so I would be relatively relaxed about this.

Do keep your IP informed of this though, and ask them to reiterate that you are trying to do something to help them be repaid, rather than shirking your responsibilities.

Hello,

I wouldn't bother too much about this CCJ, as when going into an IVA if you have a CCJ the IVA then overwrites the CCJ. They will both remain on your credit file for a period of 6 years.

It is always best to keep your I.P in the loop of your circumstances, so you may want to drop them an email.

Best Regards,

Yeah, that's a good idea - I keep my IP up to date by e-mail on a daily basis with any bits of post that come through relating to my debts.

I send all my paperwork received once a week to my IP, every Thursday for me as I finish work at 2pm on a Thurs, go home all mail in one envelope, and send recorded delivery. If I have a query I can email and the service is fantastic to the point, I get a mail back almost immediately. Had my house valued today for the remortgage, do hope it was ok! Man who did it didn't give anything away, other than say, we'll get our report off this afternoon!
