I began my IVA last October (2006) and am interested to know if I am able to apply for a mortgage within the period of my IVA. Also, is there any way I can settle my IVA before the five year period is up?

Hi Lynda and welcome to the forum.

Would this be a new mortgage for you or a remortgage of a property that you own?

On the subject of an early settlement of your IVA I think it's best that one of the insolvency experts provides questions and then an opinion....

There are various ways you can settle early - either by realising assets or by offering a third party contribution, however you would need to discuss this with your IP and success would depend upon your individual circumstances.
