Hi Adrian and Welcome to the Forum,
I dont believe your son's credit rating will be affected by you going bankrupt. You could always get your son to double check his credit report just to make sure that your debts have not been associated with him due to living at the same address.

Hi
I have to say that this may well do if you have the same surname.
Your son should ask the credit agencies to file a notice of disassociation.

There may be information on your file about people you have no financial connection with or no longer share a financial connection with you (e.g. an ex-partner). If this does happen in your case they can write to the agency to "disassociate" themselves from you explaining their reasons. They will need to fill in a form giving details about the people they want removed from their file. They need to make sure they contact all the credit reference agencies to ask them to create a disassociation as they will not share the information between them. If the agency refuses to accept their notice they can ask the Information (Data Protection) Commissioner for help.
