Hi
I have recently been cold called by the Debt Advisory Line and having discussed matters further with them they have recommended an IVA.

With the level of debt that we have we have considered our options and are probably going to go ahead.

However, I have never heard of the Debt Advisory Line and wondered if anyone out there had heard them, used them or know anyone who has used them and could give me any information about them.

I have checked them out on their website and they seem to be professional. They have sent an information pack which also included a lot of information. However, they haven't told me how much their fees are and seem to skirt around the question when I ask them!

Also what is the typical cost involved for a company to arrange an IVA on your behalf. I'm not nieve enough to think that they are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts and know that there are charges involved but it would be good to get an idea of how much these are.

I was just curious to hear any other comments regarding these guys.

Many thanks.

what we always say on here is to contact a couple of companies before you decide on which one to go with and ask lots of questions, be wary of paying up front fees if they are not guaranteed to be returned if the iva is not accepted, to find out about companies you can visit iva.com who list companies and there ratings by their clients, if you want to post details of your debts and creditors here then one of the technical experts may be able to guide you on what the current criteria for that certain creditor is at the minute, keep posting and let us know how you get on, make sure your I+E is acceptable and don't be pushed into anything you know you cannot afford just because they feel the iva won't be accepted.

Hi

As Kerri says, contact a few companies before going ahead and post some more information regarding your situation here and we will try to help you.

This site appears to belong to Mitchell Farrar LLP who also trade as the Mortgage Advisory Line, suggesting that they are specialists in the sourcing of secured lending. Whilst their website indicates a range of debt solutions, they do not appear to have any insolvency practitioners actually working for them.

I suspect that they may be a firm who introduces work to insolvency practitioner firms, rather than you dealing with the practitioner's firm directly. Are they going to charge you any money for their services, and what have they said about referring you to an IP?

Hi
What experience do they have of insolvency and can they "recommended an IVA" ?
Isn't this part of the Insolvency industry the area that needs regulation ?
