Hello,

Does anyone have any experiances of what your employes would say if you petitioned for bankruptcy?

I dont think you can be dismissed for this?, sounds very unfair?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Regarding BR, do you submit the forms online, then make an appointment with the Court? I assume when you ring the court, do you ask to speak to someone about Bankruptcy?????

Can anyone advise?

depending on what job you do , you may not even have to mention it to them, i told my boss and he was very surprised but stood by me all the way, my OR told me that when i went BR i didn't even have to tell employer, look at your contract and see if there is anything in it re BR, do your forms on line , when you have made your appt submit them and print off 3 copies, ring the court and ask to speak to someone re BR they are very helpful and very civil, pm.e its not that bad, its away out when you have tried your best, the courts are very informative or seek help from the CAB, or just post here there have been few of the regular posters that have gone BR and can guide you to the best of our knowledge.

i know and i won't lie to you regardless of what we say you will feel nervous, and then when its all done you think what was i so nervous about, the court itself is easy, i thought the OR bit was the hardest and even that was very civil.

Don't forget that when it comes to applying for a bankruptcy order you are the customes. The Court staff and District Judge will treat you with dignity, and the Official Receiver and his staff are just doing their jobs - expect them to be firm but fair, and at the end of the day they are human beings too.

Soon this will all be over for you, and you will be looking forward to debt fee future. And you can do nothing better than look at the blogs of our resident bankruptcy experts, Scaredkez, Skippy13, and Zoe for further evidence that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Some jobs will have clauses in their contracts stipulating that you can't continue to work in the position if you are bnankrupt, however in the big scheme of things these positions are few and far between. If you are concerned speak with someone in confidence in your HR office.

Hi pm
I had to tell 3 managers at work,(not all at once, cos
I only had enough guts to tell one at a time!!!)
But i neednt have worried, all three were really
supportive, and I actually handle quite a lot of cash
for one of them..not a problem....was the reply

I too was a total jelly when I went to court, and also during my phone interview, but was totally put
at ease throughout.

I now am waiting to hear from the OR for the next
step, and I have signed a form to say Inland Revenue
can have my Income Tax for the next fiscal year.

So good luck to you and yours, and keep smiling

regards
PJ

Hello pm.e!

The way you are feeling is completely normal, eventhough bankruptcy is known to have a stigma attached. I would like to think that in the days we live in this has decreased.

It is so great to have forum members like scaredkez, skippy13, zoe and others who have gone through bankruptcy and come out triumphant.

Best Regards. IVA Experts
