Got a letter today from our credit card company, balance owed is just over £9,000 but this letter says, “we have been authorised to offer you a 50% reduction on this account and will accept HALF the debt owed if paid by 20th August!!!!!”

Why would a creditor send this letter out? We have had absolutely NO contact with them since they received a letter that we were proposing an IVA but that was months ago. They do not know we will be bankrupt at the end of the month, or can they know??????????????????????????????????? I thought creditors pursued people relentlessly for the whole amount PLUS interest!!!!!!

Anyway, our house has been repossessed(finally) and I have booked my appt at CAB to go through the forms so next week I will ring the court and make the appointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MBNA????

It's a fairly common tactic of theirs. Last gasp attempt to get some money out of you.
