hi all i hope someone can help
im married with 2 small children were 45k in debt just got rejected for a iva with blair enderbsy 22nd jan
we have 8 creditors 7 of which accepted to the iva only northern rock rejected as we owe them 26k we also have a mortage with northern rock which we took out last yr ,since then we have had lots of home improvements done ie conservatory windows bathroom [hense the debt]at the time n/rock valued our home at 125,000 now are improvements have been done its now valued at 140,000 this is why they rejected the iva due to the equity in our home.
our ip basically didnt fight our case for us and just told us its rejected and thats that he didnt offer more money on our behalf we do have car finance which we would of got rid of so this could be used to make the payment per month more but he didnt even ask us any of this just addvised us to do a dmp with bains & ernst which we are now doing
we dont know what to do now we were hoping so much to get an iva ,my question to you all is can we get another iva with a differnt company and does anyone else have problems with northern rock
thanxs all

Hi nicky
As you feel that you have received a less than satisfactory service from Blair Endersby - and it is curious that they did not put any further effort into your case as this would have been in their interests from a fee position - I suggest that you find an IP with a better working relationship with Northern Rock and represent this case.

Bains and Ernst are a sister company of Blair Endersby, and given the level of your debts I do not feel that a debt management programme is a better option for you than trying another IVA, given that ongoing interest and debt management costs will be taken out of your contributions.

I often am asked to represent cases which have not been accepted, as proposed by other firms, so I suggest you give this another go!

I am sure any one of the representative firms who act as experts on this forum would be able to help you, or alternatively look in your Yellow Pages or on the internet.

Have a look at my blogs for guidance on choosing an IP firm - and important questions to ask.
