I may not have mentioned this before, but, although we did our IVA
through Grant Thornton, we were referred to them by Myvesta.
We have received a letter from Myvesta asking us to amend our
standing order from GT to Synergence/Breath as they collect the
payments and pass them to GT.
Is this normal and or ok?

Hi
Would have thought the letter would have come from Grant thornton rather than Myvesta. You,d better drop an email to GT and make sure.

Hello Andy
Have spoken to GT.
They did not realise i had been referred.
Seems like it is an accepted practice that the other
company collects the money then passes it to GT.
All my other terms are as before.
Just seemed slightly odd, i wanted to lay it before
the font of all knowledge first !.

Interesting that you say GT didn't know you had been referred, when they set up my proposal they included refereal from CCCS, I never contacted CCCS went straight to GT. Not sure where they get their information from!

very odd.
i guess they are so busy lines get crossed etc.
it seems strange to be asked to divert the payments.
unless the other company take a percentage for
referring me, but they didn't say they would.

In my first proposal GT stated that they would pay CCCS a fixed amount of money for my refereal, so I'd assume the same goes for My Vesta, but maybe they take their cut first, monthly,

If your IP is paying someone for introducing the case to them, this must be disclosed within the IVA proposal documents. It is interesting that GT are using an external collector for the IVA contributions, but this should have little effect on you so long as they are paid.

Having read the letter from Myvesta again, i have a horrible feeling this is all going to come back and bite me in the glutius maximus.
I initialy set up my standing order with GT, i have made 2 payments, the first one was paid via postal order and sent with my proposal, the second was taken via standing order on 8th June.
The letter from Myvesta asks me to fill in a new standing order mandate and return it to them, not my bank, by the time i do this it will be time to take out my next payment, will i be in default?

I am sure that you will not - it is not your fault that there is a confusing collection process, and you could always pay this month by cheque to avoid a delay with the new standing order.
