Hey Jason, welcome to the forum. I think that is exactly what you should do and your IVA shouldn't fail but you would have to speak to your IP about that. X

It sounds as though you are in arrears with your contributions but not to the extent that the arrears constitute a breach to the terms of the proposal.

I would have hoped that you have been keeping your Supervisor advised of the reasons why you have been making the erratic contributions. I believe discretion should be exercised in this case and the arrears could be paid as and when possible.

Though if I were Supervisor I would probably request that you try and do this prior to the next anniversary of the arrangement. I could then say that contributions were up to date, which always looks and sounds better than arrears.

On the information you have given here, it's inlikely that the arrangement will fail at this time as long as you keep your Supervisor informed and make efforts to reduce the arrears

I am sure that this will be acceptable to your Supervisor, but of course it is their decision. I take the view that so long as payments are eventually made within a realistic timescale, creditors would not thank me for failing an IVE necessarily, but of course it would be sensible if you could pay those arrears off as soon as possible.
