Hi Jon,

Can you explain a bit more about what you mean?

Are you talking about an IVA or a DMP?

Hi Jon

Just wanted to welcome you to the Forum.

Are you thinking of going into an IVA or a debt management programme? If you post a few more details I am sure that one of the experts will be able to give you some advice.

Now you have found us, do stay around as you are amongst friends here [:)]

All the best

As both IVA and DMP are debt solutions based upon level of affordable contribution, and also as you need to treat each creditor you have fairly, then, if you are thinking of taking professional help, the answer is no. If you are going to try and sort something "off your own bat" as it were, then I suppose it would be theoretically possible to make offers that may be accepted in a sort of do it yourself way, but in my experience that would be a VERY long shot. Please note, also, that you would need professional help if you were looking at an IVA.

Regards.

Trying to sort out pro rata payments to creditors on your own is a nightmare. I have tried that in the past, and it doesn't matter how much you offer, it's never enough.

Much better to let a firm sort it out for you, just make sure they are a reputable one.
