Me and OH are spliting married for 11yrs together for 15yrs. He has default payments on his credit file as he has DMP for 2 creditors Capital One £8k and Moorcroft £800. If he disassociates with me on his credit file, I presume his credit history will be a lot better. Am i right in thinking this, and if so does anyone have a draft letter.
Thanks

Hi nomoneyeva,
Sorry to hear that you and OH are splitting.
If he has defaults and a DMP, then disassociating himself from your record will only make his credit record slightly better (can't remember if you are in an IVA or not - brain cells dying off, old age!)
.
The defaults will still remain and he is presumably going to still be doing DMP? If so, then his record won't be good until he has finished paying them off and the defaults drop off, which is at least 6 years from the date of them being registered.
There are some template letters on the right hand side of the page, don't know if the one you are looking for is on there.

Thanks for your support, again!!

Could not see anything in the templates section about disassociation but the booklet no credit would be worth getting hold of.
I've found a pdf version on the internet you could download from here
