Hi griffy and welcome to the forum
I think it is possible but only through certain companies.
i don't know them offhand but hopefully Andy or Soulgrowth will pick up this post later as I know they know all about it,
Emma x

You would need permission from your IP to do this as obviously it would mean a change to your contributions.

Should people become in a position that they need to use this kind of service, what would happen with regrds to IVA payments. I assume they would decrease but would this be to the mercy of the creditors with a variation meeting?

And would this be acceptable as an expense if you opted for this service before an IVA was approved? Im not planning on it as there is no need at this time but was just interested to know.

If you enter into an IVA agreement when you are already subject to a car lease agreement, then the lease payments would need to be built in to the disposable income calculation. To take out new credit during an IVA, this can only be done with the Supervisor's permission and perhaps the agreement of creditors at a newly convened meeting.

Thanks Melanie, was just interested to see how it would work.

Hi Griffy and welcome to the orum.
I got a lease car and I'm in an IVA. I dealt with a company called lease line and the person was called Gary Beedle. The service was superb and I was never made to feel small or embarassed about my financial situation.
I have a lovely brand new Peugot 207cc. Obviously because I was a financial risk case the depoit was large, but that will decrease next year (as long as I make the payments on time!!). The car will be replaced mext year with whatever make I would like and can afford - also I will be able to extend the agreement to run over two years and then the next one could be 3 years (this will again reduce the payments each time as I prove myself to be a reliable customer).
If you would like Gary's details let me know - they are on a previous post of mine as well.
Good luck,
Hugs,
Chardonnay
I pay £329 per month - my allowance in the IVA was £350.

I have a lease car that I have extended until next August. The problem is I took out the lease before my IVA and pay £99 a month. When I asked my IP if I could get a new lease I was told only up to £99. Although I could manage to pay a little more I couldn't pay £200+ a month more. I have to have a car for work and I am already stressing about next August, there is a chance to buy the car but I can't get the money to do that
So if anyone know of a company who will deal with people in an IVA and don't charge a lot a month please let me know.

Hi Jan,
I would seriously try Gary Beedle at Leaseline. Let him know what you can afford - I would think for that money you'd still get a car, not new, but maybe a couple of years old.
Gary's telephone number is: 07879 414307. He's a lovely chap and won't make you feel embarassed or small because you have an IVA, he was very supportive and helpful with me.
The car is delivered to your door so you don't even have to worry about collecting it!!
Good luck with your quest,
Hugs,
Chardonnay

Thanks Chardonnay
As I said this is a real concern for me as no car means no work and no work means no money and no money no paying my IVA or being able to live.
