How were the Pogues? How was Shane?

They are definitely my favourite band - I've had tickets to see them twice and been ill both times so we haven't made it!

Apparently Shane had his teeth filed into that state...

Sorry, didn't notice this topic until late last night! Fantatsic as ever, in the mosh at the front and even my jacket was soaked in sweat by the encore! Then they played Fairytale of New York (snow & all) and to top it off Fiesta! Shane had is usual tipple on stage... a couple of bottles of what appeared to be either whiskey or vodka. If you've not had the chance to experience them live, make sure you see them next year (if they are still touring) - They are one member down already, Phil Chevron, whom I hope will recover from throat cancer.

Glad you had a good time Mike. I definitely want to see them next year, so fingers crossed Shane will still be with us! It seems ironic really - you look at Shane and then you think of Kirsty MacColl, Joe Strummer and now Phil Chevron.

I've always really liked the Pogues, and I'm so glad that Radio 1 have backed down over censoring Fairytale.

Have They? It was a farce and quite laughable! Our local dish in the midlands is faggots & peas, so as you can imagine it caused a little confusion.

Yes, after 'careful consideration' they decided they will play the full, uncensored version. Nothing to do with loads of complaints then?!?

Do they actually know what 'Pogue' is an abbreviation of?!? I'm sure if they did they wouldn't play any of their songs!

I might just have to listen to If I Should Fall From Grace With God later - one of the best albums by anyone ever! My other Pogues favourite is Rum S***** (thought I'd better not use the full word) and the Lash - classic!
