Hi All
For those of you who may have read my previous message on this. I've passed an interview as a civilian in a police force but had to declare my IVA & understood this may cause them a problem.
Well I received a letter this morning to say they want to see me to investigate further. I called them to arrange a meeting & when I asked what the process was, I was told that to satisfy themselves with my financial situation, and to "bend the rules" for people in a live IVA they need to meet with me to make sure they are happy with my situation & that I am no more a risk that someone else not in an IVA.
I'm hoping this is a positive sign that they didn't give a definite "no" but am trying not to get my hopes up too much.
My meeting is towards the end of next week so I'll let you know how I get on.
Thanks x

Hi
Sounds positive to me and it's good to see that common sense may prevail.
There are many serving Police Officers in an IVA already

It might help your cause if you could get your IP to write a letter detailing that you have completely co-operated with hims/her and have honoured your commitments to your creditors all the way through. If you were my client I would be more than happy to provide this if it would help - and especially as getting a new job perhaps puts your IVA on an even sounder footing.

Worth asking about!

I had a similar meeting when I first started my job - although Iwasn't in IVA. They took me through I & E and also asked me a few questions in relation to my debt and how it came about. It was a bit like a chat situation. Hope all goes well.
