Yesterday my Mum was rejected credit for AOL broadband through the carphonewarehouse, much to her amazment as she has never had any credit problems. Although I'm living with my girlfriend, my IVA registered address is my mum's house. Although none of my family are aware of the IVA.

Do you think that it was my IVA being at her address that reflected badly on her status?

Do it yourself, your mom need never know if you don't want her to, unless she opens your mail from one of those marketers of the iva register. :-(

Thanks for those, so I can write to each of these companies to disassociate myself from her or would I need to write in the guise of Mummy Jinx?

I cannot find the forms for the other 2 but here is what experian want

http://www.experian.co.uk/downloads/con ... ctions.pdf

There is a box on the form for your mom to sign, but I don't believe it is absolutely neccessary.

My husband and I are both in an IVA and my daughter who is 20 is still at home.

Will our current situation mean that she will be refused credit in the future?

It used to be the case where when you did a credit search it brought up everyone within the household.

When I worked in loans we would refer any CCJ, Defaults or BR at the address to our credit department and they would inevitably decline it. Not nice I know, but that was 10 years ago, things have probably changed by now.

I think I've read that now a days they should look at each individual separately unless there is a financial connection e.g. a joint bank account / loan for example.

She should be ok, but if not it would not harm putting a notice of disassociation on your file if she were ever declined.

Thanks for that. I know she has been given credit in the past couple of years and even though we had arrears on our stuff, it didn't seem to make a difference.

Last time I checked on Experian she was not shown at all, but my membership has now run out and I can't afford to renew it! Probably just as well as I probably wouldn't like what I saw.

I think it will only show your information, and not others in your household now. That has changed too, as I'd order a file from equifax many years ago and saw all the details of everyone in the house.

When I check https://www.annualcreditreport.co.uk/ it only shows my bad credit and insolvency record there.

Never heard of that site before, but have now gone on and registered. It makes a change to get something for free these days

Can I just say don't rely on Annual Credit Report - they buy their information from Call Credit who are the least accurate of the credit reference agencies.

I'm just about to write to Call Credit to inform them that unless I can teleport myself from one end of the country to the other it's very unlikely that I would have been made BR in 2 courts on the same day with the same reference number!
