when you get a charging order,can they make you sell the house?

Yes, unfortunately, they can get a force of sale on the property. This would be if you didn't pay the installments on the charge on the property they could apply to the court to force you to sell the property.

Firstly you would have to default on the payments, and secondly the creditor would have to go to Court to get an order for sale - these are not always guaranteed although they do happen.
