Hi All
A while back I read on the forum about someone being able to help with contact lenses - Hubby has astigmatism and has just had his eyes tested and would like to know if he could have contact lenses (Not hard ones) His perscription is below:-
Right Sphere Cyl. Axis Prism Base Dist.
+ 3.00 - 700 16
Left + 3.50 -800 172
Any help gratefully appreciated

I have astigmatism in one one and so wear a toric(sort of shaped)soft lens in one eye and a normal lens in the other. I pay £14-50 a month and that includes all my cleaning solutions. I used to wear specs but work outdoors a lot so moved to contacts about 10 years ago. They are the bees knees(unless you can afford to get your eyes lasered!!!)
I use boots opticians.

TheBear is an expert in this field, I seem to remember, maybe he/she might see this post and try and help you. X

My prescription is twice as bad as that, and I also wear toric lenses from Specsavers - £15 per month and they come in the post.

I've got a slight astigmatism but I can still wear normal soft lenses. I'm going for a check up next week so I can switch back to monthly disposables, so I don't know if I'll need toric lenses then. I would definitely recommend Specsavers as if you are on their direct debit scheme you everything is included, plus you get a discount off glasses.

Skippy, this is an advert, don't know if we should allow it or not?

Gone!
I thought you meant my post about Specsavers at first Jan - I hadn't noticed the other one!

Sorry Skip - didn't mean you!
It was relevant to the thread, but still an advert so that's why I wasn't sure.

Thanks guys for all the replies - We will investigate further he did try them a few years ago but they were hard lenses because his astigmatism is so bad in both eyes. So he was hoping that they had made advances in them!
