Hi

Am i right in thinking that a baliff can only come to your house if you have defaulted on a ccj and even if you have there is a form that you can send to the court to stop or suspend the warrant so long as you resume making installments to the ccj.

Also if a baliff didi take things from your house I am on the understanding that anything that anything that belongs to a child cannot be taken even if it is a games concole as ultimately this has nothing to do with the child as they do not run up the debts.

Sorry for the long question but I hope the answer may be able to put my mind at rest and the minds of many other people who are in this situation who visit this great forum for advice.

many thanks

If the debt is a bank or trade creditor then this is correct, but if the bailiff is acting form HMRC, a local authority or a landlord, then they have special powers and do not necessarily need a CCJ.

Items belonging to your children cannot be taken.
