As most of you know i had my IVA approved on Monday. Literally 5 minutes after the meeting Goldfish rang me. I explained that I had an IVA accepted, gave reference and contact number etc. Throughout the rest of the week I have had about 15 calls from them and repeated this firmly and politely. I also got my iva company to ring them and still no avail! Last night I got abit of a more menacing call from them saying that they are reviewing my account and will be in contact again in a fortnight. Didn't have to even wait that long as they have rung 3 times today. The last time i got more forceful (but polite) with the caller who then hung up on me!!! What a result. LOL[:D] Has anybody else had this with Goldfish as they seem to be the only one who will not give it up.

I would not even bother to answer the phone anymore nomoredosh.

I am always amazed at how quickly things filter down to the call centres when you gave gone into arrears, but as soon as an IVA in place the news seems to get stuck somewhere!

They can threaten you all they like, but there is nothing they can do now, they are bound by the IVA.

Of course you could always be just as menacing back!

Mmmm Tempting to be menacing however I am trying to keep my pride by being calm with them. It just amazes me that each caller has said we will update the computer so you don't get any more calls. Funny how that doesn't work!! One of them said today that they would have to transfer me to a different department and put me on hold, I put the phone down.

I think I would just tell them that you are fed up of them calling, you are in an IVA, they have been told and should not be bothering you and just put the phone down.

Hi Nomoredosh,
I know exactly what you're going through. I had Goldfish as one of my creditors and I think the problem is they seem to use remote callers. After my IVA was approved I continued to get calls from them for a couple of weeks. I would explain to one person who would say "I'll update the system", then the next morning I'd get another call with the same outcome!!
I think it's just a matter of them not checking the register and poor communication. The calls will stop, but it may take a few weeks - it's up to you whether or not you continue to answer, but there is an end in sight!!
Well done for beg polite and keep your spirits up,
Hugs,
Chardonnay

I get 4 to 5 calls a day from them and each time i explain that i am in the process of doing an IVA and my meeting is tomorrow(fingers crossed ) and each time i am told we know nothing if an iva etc etc and we will update our records blah...blah...blah and a couple of hours later the same call.... They even with hold there number now as i did stop answering there calls
So fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow ???

i think they're in competition with barclaycard to see who can ring the most times in one day ! they just ask the same questions again and again.goldfish are one of my creditors as well and they were the very kind people(not!!), who gave me my first ever credit card at the tender age of 18 ! although i really rather wish they hadnt have been so obliging ! anyway wishin you the best of luck with your meeting.[:)] [:)]

I had the same problems with morgan Stanley/Goldfish and they did not stop the relentless calling until my name appeared on the insolvency register and they could check while I was on the phone.
Everytime they ring get them to check the register and they will stop as soon as they can verify you are on there[:D]

Good luck for tomorrow John.jk. At least i'm not the only one getting calls from these annoying people. I just find it amazing that they are the only ones that keep ringing me. Thanks for all your support. Just wanted to have a rant about it!!

I too had problems with Goldfish call centers. Even though I kept them fully updated they continued to call me on multiple occasions daily so I answered one call per day (which I though was reasonable) and ignored the rest of their calls that day. They then called my work. I have no idea how they got the number but as I was on days off I did not know until I turned in and my boss asked to see me. She wanted to know why Goldfish were calling me at work!! I was furious and when I got home I phoned them and demanded to speak to someone senior. They hummed and hawed but I got through to someone and I told that person that the harassing calls had put my job, my mortgage and home at risk ( I exaggerated a bit [:I] ) I pointed out that I spoke with them once every day about my debts and these harassing calls ( I said harassment several times if I remember) were serving no purpose whatsoever. The calls stopped immediately, not only to my work but also to my home!! Right up till my creditors meeting! So don’t be fooled by any caller who says that these calls are automated and can’t be stopped because I know they can stop them if they want!!

i found that too maxdebt.once you tell them your at risk of losing your job with them ringin you at work they stop immediately.although after barclaycard managed to get hold of me at work i rang each and every 1 of my creditors to make sure they didnt have my work number,& if they did to remove it straightaway.my phone bill was enormous but i couldnt cope with the paranoia of having lots of mr visa's ringin my work when it was my day off.i would have been mortified.
