I'm planning to marry my fiance who lives in america but am undertaking an iva, would this affect me moving to the states?

No, once you are in an IVA you can move to the States, what matters is your ability to make the IVA payments rather than your location.

I suggest that you retain a UK bank account to make the payments, this will avoid incurring bank charges from foreign transfers.

The move to the States may not affect your IVA, but it is possible that your new living arrangements might. The cost of living in the US can be a lot higher than over her in terms of living accomodation and utilities, but motoring and housekeeping can work out cheaper. So if you are planning on such a major change of circumstances, it would be wise to assess how these might affect your ongoing arrangements - for instance will you have employment readily available?
