Hi all,

Ive just applied for a Police Staff vacancy with West Midlands Police and was wondering if anyone else worked for them or had any experiece of being in an IVA and applying for the police force. I have been honest on the form as it does ask if you are subject to any voluntary arrangements, and stated what my situation is and when it ends etc. It also says that if you are an undischarged bankrupt with outstanding debts you will most likely be refused, but it doesnt say anything about an IVA.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers[:)]

Sometimes SOME forces will invite you for an interview regrding you financial situation, BUT in my experience it is usually when you have passed the paper sift and interview. The financial questionaire usually forms part of your vetting.

Good luck.X

Oh meant to say also, the interview is usually not intimidating and is straight forward. They ask questions about how much you owe and what it was spent on, an how you are now for money etc. It s to satify the that you are not open to bribes etc and also prove personal and wider responsibility.

I think you have been very responsible in addressing your situation.

Oh by the way try and think of a good example for respect for diversity - it does not have to be about race or creed it can be about how you delt with a partially sighted peron, or hard of hearing person etc.

Let us know how you get on. X
