i always wanted to know what it would be like in the war with ration books [:D]i suppose at the moment with the present climate an iva is as close as i will get[:I]
but i am so pleased to have started one every month that goes past is a month nearer being debt free never to go back i am going to take great pleasure from buying everything with cash [;)] i also have a son + 3 daughters under 11 so weddings are gona be rather expensive[:0].my kids used to get too much in the olden money no prob days but they come round and actually understand the budgeting required when in an iva i actually got a birthday card from my 8 year old daughter with 3x 20p pieces in it [^]

Oh,
That's so sweet. Kids can be so refreshing, they don't have all the "pre-programming" we adults have and I love they way they call it as they see it!!

What a lovely post ... and great evidence for the reasons for sharing one's situation with the family ... even children. Our children follow our examples and you are setting a very good one to yours which teaches them the value of money.
I bet you were as pleased as punch with your 20ps!

My son is getting great at working out how much savings are when out at asda's. Any 3 for 2's on offer and before we have reached the shelf he has worked out the potential savings(small amounts quite often),he is 11 and doesnt know about our trust deed application but does know that we have removed all the credit cards from our wallets/purses and live on money we actually have right now.

Hi Guys. My son is 14 and he does know about our proposed IVA. I thought it was only fair to explain the situation to him, and he has been fab and understands fully why we have now tightened our belts. He has even offered to lessen the shopping burden by buying his own hair gel and other bits and bobs out of his wages from his paper round. Bless him. It doesn't hurt, he appreciates the value of money now.
IDF, I would have been delighted with the 20p's, bless.
