Once you start getting defaults on your credit file is there some kind of database where vultures - oops I mean companies can get details of your defaults and start ringing you offering you more money?

Not sure Marie, because of data protection I reckon it might not be possible, unless there are loopholes if and when details are passed/sold onto 3rd parties.....maybe one for the experts....

Hi
Banks and credit companies will pass/sell on your details to sister companies or linked companies if they decline your application.
There is also a publication that lists all CCJs and companies may use this to mailshot consolidation loans etc etc

Hi There,
I can't beleive the number of companies who have sent me mail shots since I started my IVA offering me a "Guaranteed Loan", etc, etc. Goodness I've ignored them as the last thing I need is more credit. It's your decision on the best solution for you, but my thought would be avoid more credit where you can!!
I hoe this helps,
Hugs,
C x

Marie, I think you were right to call them vultures.....that's basically what they are!!! What risk are they running by targeting people who are already having problems??? Do these companies not understand that there is a credit crunch at the moment and there will be alot more debt write-offs before it's over??? Makes no sense to me.....

Thanks for you responses.

I have had this really annoyin, pushy, bolshy and quite frankly rude female ring every night for about 3 weeks. She is a pain - I have to answer the phone for family reasons and also one family member has there number protected - long story.

Anyway, tonight she rang and she was determined to have her say - normally when pushed I won't budge. Today I said come on then lets get it over and done with what do you want. She told me she could write ALL my debt off and have no come backs because of a new government legislation.......I told her I didn't want it righting off and I was going to pay it (or some of it). She asked me why bother paying it if you don't have too.......I have now told her to remove my details as I have humoured her and given her a NO!

We are more inundated with new companies trying to give us money now than we were before.........It doesn't make sense.
