Hello everyone,

My last IVA payment with GT will be next month.

Can someone tell me what happens now? I did an annual review a couple of months ago and all came back with nothing extra to pay and I have done an equity review and they have confirmed I am in negative equity and I do not need to release anything.

But, do I have to chase GT or supply them with anything else or do I now wait for them to contact me??

Next month should be my 72nd payment :) (6 years)

Thanks,

They will do their final totting up and pass the file to closures, where it will sit for 6 months until they issue your completion certificate.

Personally I feel happier when driving, so, in my case, I made regular contact throughout the process, just to make sure there was nothing they needed from me. Communication is not one of their strong points!

Thanks foggy....

It took them 3 months to come back to re equity release!!

I will do a chaser tomorrow and find out if they need me to do anything else ;)

My last payment was in December bombshell, I am also with GT. I was told that it takes 6 weeks to get to the closure team, then a further 6 months to finalise. What they do in the initial 6 weeks before closure gets the file is anyone's guess?
Hopefully I am looking at no longer than September for my CC.
Congrats on making your final payment and good luck

Thank you merlin.... Well done on your progress. I can't wait for the final payment to leave my account.

Why does things like this take so long eh?

How long after your last payment did you hear that it takes 6 weeks to get to the closure department and did you chase them?

Bombshell -- I would, as I said, keep in touch -- it hasn't been unknown for the journey across the corridor to closures to be overlooked !

I gave it a month after my last payment, just to give them a little time, I emailed the customer service department asking for them to confirm my file had actually gone to closures. The reply had that information in it.

Thanks Merlin....

I emailed them yesterday morning. Their auto reply response says it could take up to 5 workings days for a reply...

Hi folks,

I have been in contact with GT and they have confirmed I have done my final Income and Expenditure and no additional monies are due into the arrangement.

After my final payment date my case will be passed straight to their closure review team who will then review my case to ensure all terms and conditions have been complied with.

Once the Review team are satisfied they have said it will be past to closures team.

I don't foresee any problems but what do they class as breach of terms and conditions?

Thanks,

They will be looking to make sure all O/T etc has been accounted for and nothing has been overlooked. In the majority of cases all is OK.

Thanks Foggy. My income has been the same for the last four years so that's okay...

Will they do any credit checks?

Thanks,

I doubt it -- they have neither the authority or the time.

Two payments to go ...I remember that feeling ...have you got a little list of things to do prepared ? Make sure you do take time to celebrate - it is a great achievement and one that seemed so daunting at the outset - well done and good luck in your debt free life!
