Does anyone know if carphone warehouse credit check. I want to upgrade my phone with them, staying with tmobile. I know i would be okay with tmobile, but do carphone warehouse them selves do a check or is it just the network. Finished paying my Iva but phone contract will run out before my credit file will be clear.

Not sure on this but usually sticking with one company means no check. Could you upgrade directly with tmobile?

I'm not sure about this but daughter is with T-Mobile and the contract is in my name and I want to take it over in June when it comes up for renewal. They've sent her a text (for me) saying she can upgrade early go into a T-Mobile shop. I anxious to do that because of the credit check but her contract and coverage in our area is much superior to mine with 02.

car phone warehouse do do a credit check however if you are already with them they may well bypass this - they can override it on the system

I was told by someone in Carphone Warehouse that I would be able to upgrade with them even if I had a bad credit rating providing I was staying with the same provider. I decided to upgrade through Vodafone so I don't know it that's right though.

You should be ok, they would have no need whatsoever to do a credit check as long as it is just as upgrade - just make sure there's no 'transferring your number' or temporary number or anything like that. Carphone Warehouse used to be well known for cancelling old contracts and starting fresh ones, sometimes without even telling the customer, due to the commission they got for new contracts. I'm pretty sure it's not like that anymore as they aren't as heavily commissioned now but I used to hear some horror stories from customers coming into our shop (I work at O2). The deals are usually better at Carphone but don't expect them to help if you run into any problems x
