I am on a mission to write a blog but cannot figure out how to do it. I have registered with iva.co.uk but am going out of my mind trying to actually start one. I click on create a new blog and am given the option to create a new site, then am told I can only use lowercase letters and numbers in the form ( which I do not feel I want to complete as it is to create a new site). Please help if my rambling has not completely confused you!! Thanks in advance

I will alert admin to your post who may be able to assist. Such a long yomrbagoni created my blog i've forgotten how to do it. However it is worth it. Look forward to reading yours in due course.

You're on the right track - [:)] I'm afraid that the blog site doesn't recognise capital letters for the log in. Once you start entering posts however its OK.
We always recommend writing the blog up elsewhere and copying and pasting your write-up into the blog - the system is not infallible sadly, and blips do happen [:(]. ... But very rarely [:)]

When you say login do you mean at the stage where it is asking me to create a new site (which is where I go after clicking on create a new blog)? It is at this stage that I come up against the 'using lowercase letters and numbers' but I am not sure that creating a new site is what I want to do??? I am confused as I have successfully created a login using uppercase letters - is this the problem??? Unfortunately I have found the whole experience very difficult to fathom (I admit I am not the most computer literate person in the world but I can usually follow simple instructions) and not clear at all. I hope you can give me some more help as unfortunately your reply has not helped me at all.

The blog is called a site as it has a site address.
Perhaps a blogger would be the best person to advise - any bloggers out there who can help ??

Maybe one of the new bloggers can help as it will be fresh in their mind.

I have managed to login and write something but when I go into it there is nothing there just a heading inviting you to 'continue reading' and on clicking this you get the blog. How do you get it to appear automatically? There is a mention of cutting and pasting but I only have an i pad so is it possible from there?? I feel a right thicko but hey we cannot know everything lol xx

Robbieboy, I can be a thicko too and I teach IT it took me a while back then to fathom it out, hang in there it will come good mine did in the end.
