I got in tonight about 10.30 to find my pet tarantula Ocho on it's back, to those who don't know, it's a sign of molting - shedding it's skin - as a process of growth.
I just wish I could stay up all night to see the full spectacle and better still if only I could do a time lapse film because it is a fascinating thing to watch. Oh well in the morning there will be a larger spider in the tank with a mini-me along side.
Here is a link to show what happens but read the thread title again, you have been warned[8D]

I'm fine with spiders and am the spider catcher of our house!

I once used the argos catalogue to 'catch' one as I was on my own..but apart from that I leave it to my other half!

Was a little worried this morning when Ocho hadn't started the molt from last night, but now is in the last stage of kicking off the old skin, looks like taking off an eight legged pair of trousers [:)] will be over and done with by the time I get home tonight.

I can not kill a spider, I have to catch them and let them go outside. Her-in-doors just freaks out.

I pick them all up and put them outside, my son the body builder thinks they're coming back in if he's here though and begs me to kill them!

Tiny ones are fine - I'm ok with money spiders and the little jumping ones but the large house spiders I hate. I think I could hold a tarantula as they are so big.

I love lizards and snakes! Have handled both (not poisonous ones of course!!)

Never held a lizard or a snake but think I would given reassurance!

Birds I am terrified of and I'm the one in town cursing children that chase pigeons...makes me so angry. I already look like I've got tourettes when walking through town (without the swearing) and then young ones chasing them does my head in. x

Snakes, lizards and alligators are great!! They are surprisingly warm to the touch.

I like birds as well and encourage them into the garden.

I am so scared of them and for what reason I don't know. Even a little sparrow scares the life out of me, I was walking towards my bamboo the other day and one few out, I almost fell over!
