Have just been into my profile to amend my countdown and the pink advertising band is covering half of my profile.
Is this a common glitch?

I've had that a few times in the past. Seems to right itself the following day.

It is a common glitch - I get it sometimes.
Admin are currently in the process of revamping the site and are hoping to get it fixed.
