Well after trying the co op 3 times for different savings products and being turned down each time for failing their credit check,I thought we were destined to have our spare cash sitting in the house in a biscuit tin!!
But no,the post office have come to the rescue allowing the wife and I to open up 2 seperate online savings accounts(we can also do a joint one if we want),so we are giving ourselves £75 each a month into this account and may open a joint one for the remainder of what used to be our trust deed payment to go into. I dont want it just sitting in our bank account(much easier to budget for the month if your starting point in the account is close to zero,as it has been for the last 4 years!!)
We are both due an incremental payrise in april so whatever extra we get can also go into our savings accounts.
Also going to put money for our MOT's into these accounts, and we are going to get a post office budget card to save for our road taxes(both due the same month).
I never knew it was going to be so hard to find somewhere to save money!!!
I looked at prepaid credit cards but they all want money from you to have your money put in and take out(our o2 card was free but has been withdrawn now).
Cant believe the wife and I already have built up a massive £5-00 each in our accounts!![:I]
