I'll second that wickerwish. He was said to have raised 40 million pounds for charity in his time, and he had fun whilst he was doing it -a tireless personality & I don't think that there will be another quite like him.

Catchphrases 'How's about that, then?', 'Now then, now then, now then', 'Goodness gracious', and 'Guys and gals' will always be remembered. And that chair on Jim'll Fixit, wanted one of them as a kid.
The next London marathon should pay some sort of commemeration to the man.

I met him in 1984 as a sweet little 12 year old .... on Jim'll Fix It - he was a kind man with a huge heart !

RIP Jim,
My dad was just telling me today of a charity walk from our town to a neighboring seaside town & Jim ridding back & forth in his cadalaic (I think!) & Handing out coffee to everyone. Such a character & had a heart of gold x
