Was told by the CEO of the Group that owns my building the other they are changing Managing Agents for all of their properties in the UK from lets call them Firm A to Firm B.
The Security firm I work for have the National Contract for Firm A and the new Agent (Firm B) will have their own Security firm under contract.
I've been told I will be covered under TUPE law and be able to transfer to this new firm (Not sure if this is true though so a little worried).
Being positive even if TUPE does not apply I'm so damn valuable and hold all the codes and keys for this place and am the only one who knows all the systems that they would be mad to not keep me.
But it does mean that I'll struggle to get a raise for the next few years. Firms when they take over NEVER want to increase wages and I have not had a raise in 2.5 years now. I should be earning £120 a month more now to just have been keeping pace with inflation!
The other issue is the SIA licence (Legal requirement for all those who work in Security). is up for renewal now and need it to work. Costs £245 which is a rip off but expect no less from a Quasi-Government body that is badly run.
My firm would usually pay for this and take the money from your wage in stages but no point as seeing as I will be transfering to a new firm by November then it will just all be taken from final wage and leave me short of the amount that is my IVA payment!
So looks like I'm going to have to make some massive cutbacks for the next 6 weeks to pay it. So I'll be using all of my 'In Case of Emergency Fund' and cutting back on the food budget.
Mmmmm beans and toast......[:D]
To be fair I have dozens of courgettes that I am going to chop and freeze and use these along with cheap pasta sauces to eat decently along with cheap garlic baggeuttes of course [:D]
